JLM Impact Hackathon
December 2022
Team: Tamar Meiri, Shir Fruchtmann, Ella, Pasternak, Amanda Blanca, Me (Noa Musih)
The task: to plan a work, study and leisure space in Jerusalem.
The rationale:
Many aspects of the lifestyle have changed due to the constraints during the Coronavirus time. One adaptation is that people continue to work and study from home. Unfortunately, most of the apartments of young people do not constitute a suitable and pleasant working environment that allows for silence, comfort, learning or working alone or in groups. (partner apartments, unstable internet, etc.).
The product and model we chose to design is one that can provide an environmentally fast and flexible solution almost overnight.
We called it - THE HUB - spaces made from cargo containers, renovated and adapted to a work and learning space.
With the understanding that there are different needs, we planned 3 types of spaces. The design can be adapted upon experience and needs.
Central HUB. large collaborative work space, with electrical sockets, WiFi internet connection, toilets, coffee station and balcony.
Office Rooms. a container divided into 3 rooms. Internet connection, screen, electrical sockets and a central table
Meeting Room. Central table for about 12 people, internet connection, electrical sockets central screen
We also added a management application to the HUB that allows:
• Reservation of spaces.
• Report of faults
• Subscription, registration and payment.
• updates via email/app/posts, etc.
B2B2C Business Model
paying audience
Jerusalem Municipality - wants to create places that allow young people to work and thus reduce the negative migration of young people from the city.
Educational institutions/companies are interested in creating "mini-offices" throughout the city for the welfare of students/employees.
B2B2C economic model
End Customer
Young people who live in Jerusalem and work outside of Jerusalem, wish to stay in the city but find it difficult to do so while working far away. They cannot work from home due to infrastructure/load at home (partners, family) or desire (loneliness).
Students who want a place for self/joint study which their apartment does not allow
